The School Day
On Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday the first bell rings at 8:25 a.m. and the tardy bell rings at 8:30 a.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday students will not be allowed on campus until 8:15 am.
Wednesday is our district appointed late start day. On Wednesday the first bell
will ring at 9:55 am with the tardy bell ringing at 10:00 am. Students will not be allowed on campus until 9:25 on Wednesday’s. School is dismissed at 3:57 p.m. on all days and, unless students are in a supervised after school program, students must be off campus by the second afternoon bell at 4:07 p.m.
Breakfast is served in the classroom on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. It is available in the cafeteria on Wednesdays from 9:25-9:55 am.

If obtaining the appropriate clothing for your child creates an undue hardship for your family, please contact the counseling office or family liaison for assistance at 303-364-7623.
Traffic rules have put in place to promote safety. You will no longer be able to make U turns on North or South bound Quentin Street. The City of Aurora has put up no U Turn signs on Quentin Street in front of the school. These new traffic rules will be strictly enforced for all children’s safety.
Identification Cards (ID)
A student ID is given to each student after pictures are returned. The student is expected to carry this card.
If a student ID is lost, a replacement card is made in the Media Center at a cost to the student of $3.00.
Students use the Internet for school related research at South Middle School. Prior to being allowed to use the Internet parent permission must be given and the student is trained.
Students are not to access their own web address, email, chat rooms, blogs, or any site considered to be inappropriate. If a student chooses not to follow the rules school consequences will be enforced.
